The Andes to Amazon Biodiversity Program consists of various
ongoing simultaneous and overlapping projects focused on carrying out
an integrated vision. Project scientists, students, and research
assistants are focused on the diversity and ecology of a variety of
organisms and their interactions with each other and the environment.
The major project components of the AABP are connected by five ongoing activities of the AABP staff, partners, and collaborators:
Document the diversity, ecology and conservation of the flora and fauna of the Andes-Amazon (AA) region of southeastern Peru
Carry
out research and development in tropical horticulture, agriculture, and
forestry research in the AA region of southeastern Peru
Develop new computer and information technologies for biodiversity science and conservation
Integrate education, training, and capacity building with community-based biodiversity science and conservation

The
synthesis of information and integration of existing and newly
collected datasets through this project will enable us to answer
important scientific questions about tropical species and their
habitats. We will be able to describe the biology and natural history
of organisms and their interactions as well as their interactions with
environmental factors, such as climate, vegetation, and soils data.
