2007 Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust Grant Recipient,

then, Andrew has devoted much of his free time to BRIT on his extended
breaks from Texas Tech University. He is currently in the process of
earning a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and a Minor in
Philosophy. Andrew hopes to make exotic plant species with
horticultural value better known and more accessible to the public.
Andrew is currently an F-16 crew chief in
the US Air Force Reserve with the 301st Fighter Wing at Carswell AFB
here in Fort Worth. Since December 2006 he has been taking civilian flying lessons to earn his private pilot license. He expects to graduate
Texas Tech in December of 2008 at which time he will apply for Officer Training School to become an F-16 pilot with his Unit.
Under the direction of Jason Wells, Andrew worked closely with the Horticulture team in Peru to expand and enrich the project.
