Andes to Amazon Biodiversity Program
Andrew has been volunteering for the Program since late 2003; since
then, Andrew has devoted much of his free time to BRIT on his extended
breaks from Texas Tech University. He is currently in the process of
earning a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and a Minor in
Philosophy. Andrew hopes to make exotic plant species with
horticultural value better known and more accessible to the public.
Andrew is currently an F-16 crew chief in
the US Air Force Reserve with the 301st Fighter Wing at Carswell AFB
here in Fort Worth. Since December 2006 he has been taking civilian flying lessions to earn his private pilot license. He expects to graduate
Texas Tech in May of 2008 at which time he will apply for Officer Training School to become an F-16 pilot with his Unit.
This summer Andrew will be taking a short tour of Iraq with his unit, then return home briefly and leave for Peru! Under the direction of Jason Wells, Andrew will be working closely with Horticulture team in Peru to expand and enrich the project.
