Locality Description: Parroquia: Zurmi. Comunidad Centro Shaime (along Río Nangaritza). Forest 2-4 km NW of Centro Shaime. Forest on limestone outcrop (i.e., presence of sinkholes, rocks, and caves).

Habitat

Habitat Description: Evergreen wet forest.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Woody vine. Leaves usually growing 5-8 m above ground. Abaxial leaf surface green. Inflorescence proximal to leaves (ca. 1 m above ground). Inflorescence an indeterminate pendent spike. Each clusters of flowers filled with slime. Calyx white to light green. Corolla tubular; yellow with red spots on lobes. Note: only immature plants will have inflorescence and leaves in same region.
