Habitat Description: Vereda forming headwaters of igarape. Canopy dominant is Mauritia flexuosa. Seepages along topographic depression maintain substrate saturated year around. Water level flucuation relatively stable (< 1.5m) where Mauritia flexuosa dominates. Recently burned about 5 years ago.

Soil Description: Saturated organic soils. Peats to approximately 2m.
