Morphological Description

Diagnosis: Plants small. Stems infrequently branched. Leaves more or less crispate when dry, erect-spreading when moist, ovate, ligulate, rarely lanceolate; apices rounded to obtuse; margins elimbate or limbate, plane to recurved below, crenulate at apices, entire below; costa single, ending far below apices to ± percurrent; cells unistratose, thin-walled, smooth, upper cells rhombic, basal cells oblong. Setae terminal or lateral, elongate; capsules ovoid to cylindrical; annulus none; operculum conic; peristome haplolepidous. Calyptra cucullate. Spores finely papillose or smooth.
